Several individuals have congratulated Lionel Messi on his triumphant outing at the 2023 Ballon d’Or Award.
Messi clinched the award for the 8th time in his career, and he did it in an unprecedented manner.
Having guided Argentina to glory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Lionel Messi became one of the leading favorites to land the award.
Ultimately, he was crowned in Paris on October 30, 2023, and many have since congratulated the Argentine for his recent achievement.
Congratulatory messages have since flooded the Argentine from across the world, including messages from Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, who finished on the podium alongside him.
Mbappe posted on his story that Messi was deserving of the award, and he also congratulated him on winning the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
The Frenchman wrote: “Congratulations Leo for your award, You deserve it”.
Erling Haaland shared a picture of Lionel Messi holding the 2023 Ballon d’Or award and he simply wrote:
“Congratulations”
The Argentine’s former club, Barcelona, also sent out their heart-warming message.
The Spanish club captioned a picture of Lionel Messi holding the Ballon d’Or with the words which read:
“We love you so much, Leo 💙❤️”
The club where he also began to hone his craft, Newell’s Old Boys also wrote: “GOAT ❤️🖤
“Thanks for the magic, Leo! 🐐”
Luis Suarez’s wife, Sofia Balbi, also left a comment on a gratitude post by Lionel Messi, and she shared two applause emojis alongside the words which read:
“Such a genius!”
The Guinness World Records also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to write:
“Lionel Messi.
“The undisputed GOAT.
“A record-breaking eighth Ballon d’Or👑”
David Beckham shared a post on his story on Instagram, which included a picture of the Argentine and his family, Beckham also wrote: “Proud moment for a beautiful family 🤍”.

Lionel Messi also received a hearty reception on October 31, 2023, from Inter Miami, as they continue to relish the presence of one of the greatest footballers ever.
Several other congratulatory messages were sent to the Argentine, including one from Brazil great, Ronaldinho Gaucho.
Ronaldinho wrote on Instagram: “Congratulations @leomessi once again the best in the world!!! Very happy for you my brother.. A big hug” 🤙🏾
Despite the torrent of messages that has accompanied Messi clinching his 8th Ballon d’Or award, it is worth noting that Paris Saint Germain haven’t congratulated their former man.
They however acknowledged him being recognized for the award, alongside Kylian Mbappe and Randal Kolo Muani.
Lionel Messi endured a torrid stint in Paris, which saw him being booed on many occasions by fans, who felt he didn’t live up to expectations.
The 36-year-old scored 32 goals and provided 35 assists in 75 appearances for Paris Saint Germain in his two-year stint at the club.
