In the UEFA Nations League match between Northern Ireland and Norway at Windsor Park, Belfast, Dortmund ace Erling Braut Haaland scored a brace, putting the Irish to the sword as they were thrashed 5-1.

Haaland caught the eye not only with his sweet strike for the goal but with the celebration that came afterward.

It is reported that the 20-year-old is a huge fan of former Swansea striker, Michu, and had earlier revealed that Michu was his footballing idol as a child

The former Swansea forward Michu had admitted he was flattered by the news of Haaland’s admiration for him while adding that he believes the youngster will become a global star.

“It’s an honor. I think he’s going to be a world-class player,”

“He’s a much better player than me,” Michu told the Spanish media outlet, at the time.

The striker took the center stage on Monday to pay tribute to his hero, after his stunning attacking display in the 5-1 crushing of Northern Ireland.

After the goal, Haaland raced away from goal, before replicating Michu’s trademark ear-cup celebration.

He later posted a picture of the celebration to his Twitter page, tagging Michu in the process.

Michu had revealed that the celebration itself originated from his time in Spain.

He revealed at the time: “When I was at Celta Vigo in the second division, we played Gorka Pintado’s old club Granada and I missed a penalty.

“Granada went up that season to the top league, and then I moved to Rayo Vallecano who were also in the top division.

“In the warm-up to that game, I could hear the Granada fans shouting ‘Hey Michu, please take a penalty today’.

“But the game finished 1-0 in our favor and I scored the only goal. So when I scored, I just put my hand to my ear and listened to the Granada support, but they were quiet. It was just a bit of harmless fun with the Granada fans.

Haaland has risen to become one of the hottest talents in world football. Last season, he finished with 44 goals in 40 appearances for Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.
