Chelsea started the match in a more dominating manner, getting most of the possession in the match as well as the chances.

Cole Palmer alone created 3 chances for the Blues in the first half but Raheem Sterling and Marc Cucurella failed to convert them.

The match went into the break on a goalless draw but Mauricio Pochettino’s men had the better opportunity to go into the lead in the match.

Noni Madueke started the match ahead of Mykhailo Mudryk and managed to hit the crossbar with his only effort in the match.

Brentford, on the other hand, played mostly behind in their own half as they watched Chelsea dominate throughout the first half.

Chelsea started the second half dominating the visiting team just like they did in the first half of the Saturday lunchtime encounter.

Brentford again were mostly in their half in the second period of the match, with all ten men behind the ball whenever the Blues attacked.

However, the visitors came close to scoring in the 51st minute of the match with their best chance of the game but Sanchez was equal to the task.

Vitaly Janelt was right on time and met a cutback from the right but failed to hit it as he flashed a low shot straight at Sanchez.

Chelsea went behind in the 58th minute as Mbeumo’s fine cross into the box found Ethan Pinnock, who converted with a sublime header.

The goal against Chelsea was Ethan Pinnock’s first Premier League goal and also the fifth of his entire footballing career.

After the goal, captain Reece James was introduced in the match alongside Ian Maatsen as they replaced Noni Madueke and Axel Disasi.

The Blues subsequently struggled in the match especially in the attacking department.

Bryan Mbeumo broke the home fans’ heart more after he scored in the final minutes of the match.

Brentford became the first side in the Premier League era to win their first three matches at Stamford Bridge as Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo earned them a 2-0 victory over Chelsea.

After four matches unbeaten it’s back to square one for the Blues. Plenty of chances, loads of xG, but another bad result.

One could see the disappointment on Mauricio Pochettino’s face as he tucked his hands in his pocket with a grimmed face.
