Lionel Messi has made history as he becomes the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers highest goalscorer after his brace against Peru.

Lionel Messi, who currently plays for MLS side Inter Miami, proved to be back to his old self with two first-half goals against Peru.

The former PSG attacker overtook Luis Suarez, as the all-time leading scorer in CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers with 30 goals.

Recall we reported that Messi was out injured and has missed some Inter Miami’s matches. He confirmed he is healthy and up to old tricks by scoring two amazing goals against Peru.

The Barcelona legend scored his first goal in the 32nd minute with a lovely shot to the right-hand corner of the post.

He doubled the tally scoring10 minutes later after showcasing his versatility with a left corner strike with his left foot.

Following their season-ending loss to Charlotte FC on Saturday, Messi will return to the United States with Inter Miami and will likely be involved with the MLS club in some friendlies later in the season after they failed to qualify for MLS playoffs.
