Bukayo Saka, who was born to Nigerian parents Adenike and Yomi Saka, celebrated his nation as they marked 63 years.

The England International was born in Ealing, Greater London, and though he was eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria – he opted to play for The Three Lions.

Saka shared an image that he took in Lagos during the summer on his Instagram page as he celebrated the West African giants.

In the image the Arsenal sensation shared, he could be seen with a smiling group of Nigerians as he posed for a selfie with them.

Bukayo Saka also adorned a white and green outfit and tagged the image: “Happy Independence Day Nigeria !”

Recall that we reported that Bukayo Saka visited Lagos, Nigeria during the summer break after Arsenal failed to win the Premier League.

The Englishman landed at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

He visited what we would call his “fatherland” on vacation after the 2022/2023 sweet-bitter Premier League campaign was concluded.

Saka-Led Arsenal finished second in the Premier League behind treble-winners Manchester City despite the winger’s fantastic input.

Bukayo Saka was also the model for Arsenal’s new home shirt for the 2023–24 season, which was manufactured by Addidas.

Bukayo Saka also signed a new contract with the Gunners until 2028 and bagged a significant pay raise at the end of last season.

The football world wondered why the Arsenal winger made such a journey back then to Nigeria without any official explanation from him.

Futballnews also reported that Saka bagged his first international career hattrick in June as England thrashed North Macedonia 7-0 at Old Trafford.

Arsenal’s Saka bagged a superb hattrick in that match before exiting the game to a standing ovation after the game had been won.

Bukayo Saka has also been sensational for Arsenal this season as he has scored 5 goals and provided 4 assists across all competitions for Arsenal so far.

Mikel Arteta recently revealed that Bukayo Saka picked up a ‘pretty bad knock’ during 4-0 win against Bournemouth last weekend.

In his post-match press conference, Arteta said: “It was a pretty bad knock. I don’t know how he’s feeling now, I haven’t had chance to speak to him. But hopefully we can get him back.”

“I think it was a stamp in the same area but Gabi was limping as well after the game so let’s see how they are.”

Saka, 22, was a late call into the Arsenal side for their trip to the Vitality Stadium after suffering an injury against Tottenham last weekend.
