Alexis Mac Allister and Tottenham defender Cristian Romero exchanged words on Instagram after Tottenham’s controversial win over Liverpool in the Premier League.

After the game, Tottenham defender Cristian Romero posted on Instagram, saying “This team has great spirit, great heart, always like this, all together”.

Mac Allister didn’t hold back his thoughts on the game as he directly attacked his Argentina teammate, saying, “Normal when you have 12 players.”

Romero responded subsequently, saying, “Cry at home.”

Romero played the whole match and was instrumental to the win against the Reds while Alexis Mac Allister played for 80 minutes.

Tottenham remain unbeaten in the Premier League after Joel Matip scored a 96th-minute own goal to hand the Lilywhites victory with Liverpool ending the game with nine men after Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota were sent off.

Curtis Jones got sent off after his horrible tackle on Yves Bissouma in the first half and Jota in the second half for an unnecessary tackle.

After the game, Liverpool received an apology from PGMOL, who admitted that Luis Diaz’s goal was wrongly ruled out for offside after the VAR failed to draw the line.

The PGMOL said, “The PGMOL acknowledges a significant human error occurred during the first half of Tottenham Hostpur vs. Liverpool.”

“The goal was missed, but Luis Diaz was allowed offside by the on-field team of match officials.

This was a clear and obvious factual error and should have resulted in the goal being awarded through VAR intervention; however, the VAR failed to intervene.

Many people had criticized the VAR over the years for doing more harm than good since it’s introduction into the game.

Mike Dean claimed earlier this season that his decision against Chelsea that allowed Harry Kane goal to stand in 2022/23 season was not a correct decision.

Lee Mason was suspended by PGMOL after failing to flag a Brentford goal against Arsenal on February 11, 2023, as offside.

At the beginning of the season, the same PGMOL offered an apology to Wolves after Wolves’ equaliser was wrongly ruled out, stripping the Gary O’Neil boys of a point against Manchester United.

The series of glaring VAR blunders have triggered calls for more accountability and consistency from VAR officials.
