Trevoh Chalobah’s personal trainer has shared an exposé, revealing the reason for the injury crisis of Chelsea.
Ed Hodge is reportedly the personal trainer of Chalobah, and he posted a picture detailing the reason why Chelsea players have faced recurrent injury issues.
Hodge shared a picture of a private Instagram conversation on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), but he has now deleted the post.
The Blues are experiencing an injury issue, which has seen several key players sustain both long and short-term injuries.
Players injured for Chelsea?
Summer signings; Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and Christopher Nkunku are all absent from the first team due to injury, and their unavailability has been a big blow for Chelsea.
Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Wesley Fofana are unavailable for selection due to injury.
Chelsea are currently undergoing a rebuilding process under Mauricio Pochettino, but the absence of these key stars have had a damaging effect on their season.
The Blues have picked up only one win out of 5 Premier League matches, with 2 draws and 2 defeats.
The West London club currently occupy the 14th spot on the Premier League table, 2 positions below where they finished last season, 12th.
Despite spending over £1 billion since Todd Boehly took over the club, it has been more of gloom than a cheerful state for Chelsea.
Trevoh Chalobah’s Personal Trainer on Chelsea injury crisis
Anyway, Ed Hodge has claimed that majority of the injuries are due to the players constantly loading muscles “without lengthening them simultaneously”.
He wrote: “Most of the injuries are because the players have been loading muscles time and time again without lengthening them simultaneously… then one lunch into a tackle, or a COD too rapidly and they’re injured.”
Hodge expressed that Chelsea’s injury crisis is a complete mess, due to the kind of training activities the players are being exposed to, without adequate measures.
Chalobah’s personal trainer added: “Hardly any of them do reformer Pilates or terrain work (i.e. stair sprints & hill sprints to strengthen knee ligaments).
“It’s an absolute mess at the moment, bro”
Writing on Trevoh Chalobah’s return from injury, he revealed that the Englishman has a hamstring injury, but he should be back to full fitness soon.
He wrote: “Trev has a hammie injury… should be back to 90 per cent sprint ability by end of this week.”
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino’s side welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge on September 24, 2023, with the hope of returning to winning ways.
Unai Emery’s side defeated Chelsea by 2-0 in their last Premier League visit to West London, on April 1, 2023.
They have had a better start to the season than the Blues, with 3 wins and 2 losses from 5 matches.
Given Chelsea’s inconsistent and woeful form, it is uncertain where the pendulum would swing, although Aston Villa might slightly be the favorites going into the clash.
