Gareth Southgate has too many raw talents who are highly-rated with some considering switching allegiance to get international caps.

Harvey Barnes is on the top of the list of players that are looking to swap nations, with the playing considering playing for Scotland.

The Newcastle winger has not played for England since 2020 and if Southgate does not take action, he may lose out on the player.

Well, Futballnews brings you 9 top talents that could ditch England and find another nationality, just to get international minutes.

Harvey Barnes – Scotland

Barnes is one player that would likely be missed out on by England coach Gareth Southgate as the player is looking to swap nationalities.

The Newcastle star has not been called up since 2020 and he has gotten interest from Scotland boss Steve Clarke, Gareth Southgate might want to be careful there.

Eddie Nketiah – Ghana

Nketiah just earned an international cap after an impressive youth spell which saw him become all-time Under-21s top scorer, edging Alan Shearer’s record.

Despite this amazing feat, Gareth Southgate did not include him in matchday squad for England’s 1-1 draw with Ukraine.

The Arsenal attacker has the option to play for Ghana and has even rejected call-ups from the Black Stars in the past.

Callum Huson Odoi – Ghana

Hudson-Odoi looked like one certain player in England for a couple of years after his spell with Chelsea where he won the Champions League.

However, the Nottingham Forest man has not played for England since 2019 and he could fancy his way out to Ghana – his father’s place.

Ezri Konsa – DR Congo, Portugal, Angola

Gareth Southgate might also lose another star in his disposal as Konsa has several countries he could switch to – DR Congo, Portugal, and Angola.

The player might want to swap nationalities despite making waves in the Three Lions at U21 and U20 level.

Konsa thrived under Unai Emery, but he might want to leave soon if Gareth Southgate doen’t look to his direction.

Noni Madueke – Nigeria

Madueke has shown potential since he signed for Chelsea this summer but that is not enough to get Southgate to look at him.

The Chelsea man has represented England in the U15s to U21s and was part of England’s U21 European Championship success this summer.

But with heavy competition in Southgate’s squad, Madueke could look towards Nigeria to earn himself a senior international cap.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – DR Congo

Another player Gareth Southgate is likely to lose is Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka who has been a regular for United.

He has not impressed Southgate enough to give him a call-up and could chose to play for DR Congo who he previously made one appearance for at U17s level.

Tino Livramento – Scotland, Portugal

Newcastle’s newest defensive signing has proven to be a potential and could be called up in the future in the England squad.

However, the stiff competition in the England squad will not afford him the opportunity and he might want to swicth to Portugal or Scotland.

Morgan Gibbs-White – Jamaica

Gibbs-White has been nothing short of a superstar since he joined Nottingham Forest, and the 23-year-old has a bright future ahead of him.

However, that is not enough for Gareth Southgate. Hence, the England U17s world champion and U21s Euros winner could possibly switch to Jamaica.

Michael Olise – France

Crystal Palace have gotten a gem in their hand in Olise. England could grab the opportunity fast and snatch the star from the grasp of France.

Olise has been representing the French national team at youth level since the U18s, but the Les Blue has not call him up to senior team.

Gareth Southgate could use that as an avenue to lure the Nigerian to their squad with an offer of a senior team call-up.
