Hansi Flick has been shown the exit door by the German football federation following his disastrous national team managerial campaign.

Germany have decided to pathways with the former Bayern Munich manager just nine months before the beginning of their home European Championship next year.

Hansi Flick witnessed his side suffer an awkward 4-1 friendly beating at the hands of Japan in the presence of their home supporters on Saturday, 9th of September.

The Dutch Country have lost four times in their last five matches which include their group-stage finish during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking after the decision, President Bernd Neuendorf of the German Football Association said; “The men’s senior national team needs new impetus after the recent disappointing results. We need a spirit of optimism and confidence in our own country”.

Marcus Sorg and Danny Rohl, Hansi Flick’s assistant coaches have also been sacked from their duties with immediate effect.

The former manager of Hannes Wolf and Sandro Wanger Rudi Voller who also managed the German national team from 2000 to 2024 will take charge of the friendly match against France on Tuesday, 12th of September, in Dortmund Stadium.

Hansi Flick’s disastrous era as the German head coach came to an end after disgraceful stats, where he won just 12 matches out of his 25 games in charge since he replaced Joachim Low in the summer of August 2021, whom he also worked with as an assistant from 2006 to 2014.

The 58-year-old started his tenure by leading Germany to eight straight victories, but the team was eliminated from the tournament in Group E after losing to Japan, tying with Spain, and beating Costa Rica. They have only defeated Oman and Peru in the last 12 months.

Germany have lined up some high-profile managers as a replacement for the just dismissed Hansi Flick.

According to German outlets, former Real Madrid great and three-time Champions League winning coach Zinedine Zidane has been named among others to replace the former Bayern Munich manager.

Despite their undeniable talent, the team doesn’t seem very driven, and they aren’t using a tactical approach that works well for them.

Therefore, Zidane’s legendary club career and the awe he inspires as a result of his status as a player could provide the much-needed morale lift that Germany so desperately needs.

Louis Van Gaal, Oliver Glasner, Jurgen Nagelsmann, and a couple more names are also in connection with the German job.

What’s next for Germany?

The Dutch country will lock horns against the French national team on Tuesday, 12th of September, 2023, at the Borussia Dortmund Stadium as their football federation will keep searching for Flick’s replacement before the next International break.
