John Terry is on the verge of becoming the new manager of Saudi Arabia club side Al Shabab after the Middle East outfit approached him.
According to reports, the former Chelsea defender was met by the Saudi club side during the just-concluded European transfer window and a deal has already been agreed on.
The former England national team captain has been given an initial offer of at least two years, but could later be extended to four years if the deal materializes.
It would be the first full managerial position the 42-year-old would take on, after working as a counselor at Chelsea youth academy this year.
John Terry has held several coaching roles since calling it quits on professional football five years ago.
The former Nottingham Forest member has worked as an assistant coach at Aston Villa and Leicester City under the leadership of Dean Smith but has yet to secure a job in English top-flight clubs.
The former Chelsea captain was indeed one of the best in his position during his active period and he will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest leaders the Blues has ever had.
Terry was a key member of the Blues team that won several domestic and European trophies during the era of Roman Abrahamovic under the leadership of Jose Mourinho and several past Chelsea managers.
He made more than 700 appearances for the West London outfit and rounded off his golden career with a short time at Aston Villa.
The 42-year-old won several records with the Blues including the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup titles, becoming one of the only six players to make over 500 outings for the London club.
However, as a result of appreciation for the commitment and loyalty shown to Chelsea over the past few years, the Stamford Bridge outfit will permit him to leave his position in the youth sector for Saudi Arabia.
If the deal yields as believed, Terry will become the latest in an improved Saudi system recognized by the Premier League stars taking their technique to the Middle East.
Steven Gerrard, the former England national team player, is currently in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq. Gerrard has also gotten off to a good start in his new role, having lost only one of his first five league games and recruiting talented players like Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Terry may or may not be able to use his charisma to influence Al-Shabab in the same way due to the club’s poor form as they haven’t won any of their first five games this season.
Although Al-Shabab are not currently one of the top teams in the Saudi Pro League, the club’s ambitious owners see Terry’s extensive playing career as a strong selling point in their pursuit of new players.
He may find the fresh start he needs in Saudi Arabia, and if his managing career is even half as successful as his playing one, Chelsea may eventually consider him later in the future.

As it was mentioned above, if the 42-year-old joins the Middle East outfit he would leave his position as a consultant in the Chelsea academy system and secure his first managerial job.
Therefore, it remains to be seen whether John Terry will join Al Shabab as the Saudi Arabia transfer window is still ongoing until the 7th of September.
