Rasmus Hojlund, Manchester United’s new boy has explained what Casemiro told him following the Red Devils’ defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday, 3rd of September.
The former Atalanta striker ended his long-awaited debut when he was subbed off the bench in the second half of the game before Mikel Arteta’s men produced two late goals to grab all three points at Emirates Stadium.
Hojlund replaced Antony Martial in the 63rd minute of action before Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus put up a show for the visitors.
Rasmus Hojlund joined Manchester United in the just-concluded summer transfer from Atalanta in a deal worth 72 million pounds and seems like the newly acquired striker has already fit into the United system.
What happened between Rasmus Hojlund and Casemiro?
Shortly after manager Erik ten Hag introduced the 20-year-old Danish frontman Casemiro happened to have a fiery conversation with him.
The Brazilian midfielder stared as if he was trying to boost the moral of the Denmark International striker by grabbing his shirt before pushing him back.
Fans stopped the scene between the duo and were left concerned about what might have been the issue.
However, Rasmus Hojlund has cleared the air that his new teammate was only enjoying the new spirit of life he had given the Red Devils after he replaced Antony Martial.
Speaking to reporters, the new summer signing said; “He Casemiro just said something in Spanish, ‘Vamos’ or something like that”.
“He was happy that I gave the team perhaps a slightly different dynamic than what you get from Martial”.
“He’s maybe a little more technically strong and looks down the gaps where I like to take the fights”.
He added; “After all, he hasn’t seen me play before, so he told me he was pleasantly surprised to see me play”.
Casemiro was pleasantly shocked to see Rasmus Hojlund in such action for Manchester United for the first time and seems to have quickly won the heart of the former Real Madrid midfielder following his debut on Sunday.
The 20-year-old striker displayed early glances of his high-intensity level and stability against Arsenal, tackling and throwing himself into a physical challenge with the Gunners defenders.
Rasmus Hojlund was also involved in the build-up that led to Alejandro Garnacho’s goal in the stoppage time that was later ruled out for outside by referee Antony Taylor.
What’s next for Rasmus Hojlund?
The Red Devils supporters will be looking forward to seeing what influences the former Atalanta striker can make when the English Premier League returns after the International break and Man United will lock horns against Brighton at Old Trafford.
Hojlund is now on an international mission with Denmark’s national team where they’ll face San Marino and Finland in the ongoing Euro 2024 qualifiers matches.
