Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first footballer to register 850 goals in the history of the beautiful game.
The former Manchester United player celebrated the milestone following Al Nassr’s 5-1 victory over Al Hazm in the Saudi Arabia Pro League on Saturday, 2nd of September, 2023.
The 38-year-old Portuguese International forward scored his sixth goal in his previous three matches and registered two assists as Al Nassr recorded their third straight win in the league.
The Saudi Arabia outfit took the lead in the 33rd minute of play through Abdulrahman Ghareeb after a slow start to the game, before Abdullah Al-Khaibari made it two with a lovely volley from a corner kick in the 8th minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half.
Two minutes after the start of the second half, Gambia international Muhammed Badamosi drew one back for the home team, only for summer signing Otavio to reclaim the two-goal edge 10 minutes later.
It was a 3-1 lead to Al Nassr in the 57th minute after Cristiano Ronaldo recorded another assist.
After the third goal, Al-Nassr’s top players joined the celebration, with Ronaldo scoring his career-best goal 68 minutes before Mane’s game-winning goal.
Sadio Mane finished off the win with a clinical strike in the 78th minute, after some excellent combination play by Ronaldo and Ghareeb.
Ronaldo secured the fourth goal himself by hitting a strong shot into the net from 13 yards.
After the match, Cristiano Ronaldo took to his social media handle to express how he felt, He wrote; “Another great team performance! We keep improving. Let’s go @AlNassrFC. 850 career goals and still counting!’ the 38-year-old Ronaldo posted on social media”.
Al Nassr dropped their first two league games of the season, but have won their past three and are now only four points out of first place.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is the league’s top scorer this season with six goals, one ahead of former Liverpool forward Mane also top of the charts in terms of assists.

He then transferred to Manchester United in the summer of 2003 when he scored 145 goals in 346 appearances during his first and second spells with the Old Trafford outfit.
He later joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2009, where he played 438 games and scored a staggering 450 goals for the Spanish powerhouse.
Ronaldo continued his journey with Juventus after he left Madrid, he played 134 matches and scored 101 goals before he left Turin.
At the International level, Ronaldo scored 123 goals for the Portugal national team combined with numerous trophies.
