Liverpool have made series of signings and sales in the just-concluded 2023 transfer window as they scramble to restructure a squad that slipped off Champions League spot in the Premier League last season.
A number of top signings have been made to offset high-profile exits that has seen midfield veterans such as Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leave to Saudi Arabia, including Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool signings in 2023 transfer window
Liverpool have witness less additions to the squad than departures. They have signed only four players in the 2023 summer transfer window. Leading the Reds’ list of new additions are Dominik Szosboslai, Marc Allister, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Dominik Szosboslai
Dominik Szosboszlai is Liverpool’s most expensive signing this summer and the first top signing from Bundesliga before the arrival of Endo and Gravenberch.
Liverpool signed Szosboszlai for £60m from Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig. The Hungarian midfielder has signed a five-year contract till 2028.
Marc Allister
Marc Allister was Liverpool second signing in the just-concluded 2023 transfer window after Szosboslai deal. The 2022 World Cup winner, who starred for Argentina, sealed a £35m move from Brighton to Anfield, joining Liverpool on a five-year contract.
Wataru Endo
Japanese baller, Wataru Endo, 30, was Liverpool’s third signing in the 2023 transfer window. Endo, who plays as a midfielder, joined Liverpool on a four-year contract till 2027 from Bundesliga club Stuttgart. Liverpool forked out £16.2m for the move.
Ryan Gravenberch
Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch is Liverpool’s last signing before the closure of the 2023 transfer window.
Gravenberch, who struggled for playing time at Bayern Munich, joined Liverpool on deadline day for £34.2m, signing a five-year contract till 2028.
Liverpool 2023 summer exits
Liverpool witnessed more exits in the 2023 transfer window than new recruits. Five first team players – Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, James Milner, and Oxlade-Chamberlain – left the club this summer.
Roberto Firmino
After eight years at Liverpool, Roberto Firmino left Liverpool to Saudi Arabia due to lack of game time. The Brazil forward was the first Liverpool player to move to Saudi Arabia joining Al Ittihad for £40m on a three-year contract.
Jordan Henderson
Jordan Henderson was the second player to make a shock transfer exit from Anfield to Al Etiffaq in Saudi Arabia. Henderson, who was the longest-serving Liverpool player, joined Al Etiffaq for £12m after 12 years at Liverpool. He has signed a three-year contract till 2026.
Fabinho
Fabinho is another Liverpool midfield veteran who called time on his Liverpool career to move to Saudi Arabia after five years at Anfield.
Fabinho joined Al Ittihad for £40m, also signing a three-year contract.
Naby Keita
Guinea international and prolific midfielder, Naby Keita, also made Liverpool’s exit list in 2023 transfer window. Keita was out of contract at Liverpool after the end of last season. He has joined Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on a free transfer.
Oxlade-Chamberlain
English midfielder and former Arsenal star Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Naby Keita on free exits from Liverpool after their contract expired. Chamberlain has joined Turkish club, Besiktas, as a free agent on a three-year contract.
James Milner
Former Manchester City and England midfielder, James Miller also left Liverpool as a free agent this summer. He has joined Premier League club Brighton on a one-year contract with one-year extension clause.
Liverpool loan exits
Leading the list of Liverpool loanees in 2023 transfer window is Scottish youngster Calvin Ramsay, who has completed a loan move to Preston.
Portuguese young midfielder, Fabio Carvalho has been loaned to Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.
Scottish center-back, Rys Williams has joined Aberdeen while Dutch full-back Sepp van den Berg has been loaned to Mainz.
