Brentford are set to welcome Tottenham to west London for an all-capital clash on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
The match is likely not to feature both teams’ top strikers, Ivan Toney – who is currently serving is ban for illegal betting and Harry Kane – who will soon join Bayern Munich.
He has agreed a move to Bayern Munich after Tottenham accepted a bid worth over £87million.
Match Preview
Brentford won 3-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in May, which was inspired by Bryan Mbeumo’s man-of-the-match performance, and it was their first victory over Spurs since 1948.
Thomas Frank’s side have had no shortage of tough tests this summer, with three games against Premier League oppositions during a two-week tour of the USA preceding a visit from Ligue 1 side Lille last weekend.
The Australian manager has already started stamping his authority on a squad which finished a lowly eighth last time out.
Brentford Vs Tottenham Team News
Brentford would add Bryan Mbeumo and Frank Onyeka in their squad despite both of them being substituted with knocks in last weekend’s friendly against Lille.
Christian Norgaard, who is the team’s new captain, is unlikely to start having only just returned from an injury.
Tottenham on the other hand, will give a competitive debut to James Maddison in behind Richarlison after Harry Kane’s decision to join Bayern.
Postecoglou has used a 4-2-3-1 formation during pre-season and Destiny Udogie is another in line to start.
The new manager will go into the Brentford v Spurs game without Bryan Gil (groin), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Fraser Forster (back).
Head to Head (H2H) History And Results

Brentford Vs Tottenham Prediction
Tottenham’s new plan for the season may well turn out to be a prosperous one but Postecoglou could hardly ask for a more difficult welcome to the Premier League.
Brentford on the other hand are without their main goalscorer but have the potential to be every bit as wily and technical as they’ve ever been.
From Futballnews, we are predicting that Brentford to win Tottenham 2-1.
