Newly signed Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz has hit back at those lashing him for his performance in an MLS All-Stars challenge.

On July 18, 2023 Havertz etched his name in the short history of the event by becoming the first player not to score even a point in the cross-and-volley challenge.

The video which displayed his horrendous output during the challenge has since gone viral and it has generated lots of reactions.

Some chelsea supporters have taken it upon themselves to poke fun at Arsenal, saying they have swindled the club.

Arsenal fans have also expressed scepticism with the signing of Kai Havertz, as they fear he might not deliver at the club.

Arsenal were defeated in the cross-and-volley challenge due to the German’s struggles and a poor display from Folarin Balogun.

However, in impressive fashion Kai Havertz redeemed himself as he scored in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over MLS All-Stars on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old smashed a definitive finish from close range, before taking to social media and hitting back at critics who bashed him for his performances in the cross-and-volley challenge.

He wrote: “But in all seriousness.. Really nice feeling to get my first @arsenal goal! Thank you to the fans for the amazing support this week!”

Kai Havertz has opened his goals bank for the Gunners and he did it in grand style putting the final nail on the coffin of the MLS All-Stars.

The five scorers in the game include; Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli.

Chelsea scooped £65 million from the sale of Kai Havertz, a considerably huge amount despite his wishy-washy spell at Stamford Bridge.

He scored 32 goals and provided 15 assists in 139 appearances for Chelsea, having joined the club from Bayern Leverkusen on the 4th of September, 2020.
