The Gunners went up to become the only second team in the world to have a squad worth over €1billion, just behind title rivals Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola and his men overtook Arsenal to win the Premier League last season following the Gunners drop in form and injuries.

Despite losing the title to City, the North London team have surpassed the latest rivals in terms of the value of their squad, which is now €1.21bn.

This is coming after a very busy transfer window which saw Mikel Arteta’s men land Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65 million last month.

They have also signed Jurrien Timber from Ajax for a reported fee of £34m, before they landed Declan Rice from West Ham in a deal worth £105m.

Totally, Arsenal have already spent over £200 million this summer which has seen their squad value skyrocket.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is quite happy with the old team’s dealings in the market this summer and says they’ll win the league next season.

Speaking about the club’s signings to Eurosport, Wenger said that: “I think it is a good investment.”

“Overall, personally I think they have made good buys as they are players who are now mature, 23, 24, but still young so can stay together for a few years.”

“They will be under more pressure after last year, but they have learned a lot and they can show they can deal with that pressure now,” the Frenchman concluded.

On Futballnews today, we will be looking at the five most valuable clubs in the world ahead of the new season.

Arsenal – €1.21 billion

Pep Guardiola’s City beat Arsenal to the Premier League last season, but the Gunners are on top here.

The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market with the signing of Declan Rice, Havertz and Timber to the Emirates.

However, players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli have all seen their values increase recently, showing the massive talent at the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City – €1.19 billion

Man City might have added Haaland to their squad and also won a historic treble but Pep’s men are not the most valuable squad.

The City squad was previously estimated to be worth €1.05 billion and despite their increase since April, Arsenal still tops them.

City’s value might actually increase in the coming weeks with a potential arrival of Josko Gvardiol or might decrease, should Bernardo Silva depart the club.

Paris Saint-Germain – €1.03 billion

Despite losing Lionel Messi this summer, PSG have increased their value from around €882.55 million in April by more than €100,000.
