Olympique Marseille have reportedly agreed a contract in principle to sign Pierre Emerick Aubameyang on a three-year deal.
Aubameyang has accepted Marseille contract offer and he will be open to making a return to the Ligue 1.
The Gabonese has previously played in the French top-flight division, having began his youth career in France.
While in France, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang played for the cadet teams of Nice, Laval and Batia.
He also represented Dijon, Lille and Monaco, when he was on loan from AC Milan.
After failing to secure a starting shirt at Milan, he joined Saint Etienne on December 22, 2011 signing a permanent deal with the French side.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang also received offers from Saudi Arabia, but he was keen on remaining in Europe.
The former Borussia Dortmund forward has endured a torrid stint at Chelsea, after joining the club from Barcelona in September 2022 for a reported fee of £12 million.
He made 21 appearances for the Blues last term, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in all competitions.
Aubameyang was frozen out of the Chelsea squad, as he was deemed surplus to requirements.
Graham Potter dropped him from their Champions League squad despite his immense wealth of experience in the competition.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang signed a two-year deal with the West London side last summer, with the option of a further year.
The contract of the Gabon International with Chelsea will expire in the summer of 2024 and Olympique Marseille want to sign him on a free transfer.
