Barcelona and PSG are reportedly close to an agreement that would see former star Neymar return to the club after 6 years.
Neymar till date remains the most expensive transfer of all time after PSG activated his €222 million release clause in 2017.
That move caused crisis in Barcelona as they went on to replace the Brazilian by signing Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann.
Barcelona failed to replace Neymar after those signings, got broke and eventually lost Lionel Messi on a free to PSG as a result.
Barcelona also wanted to activate yet more ‘economic levers’ to facilitate the move but it was not successful.
Khaled Waleed of beIN Sports claimed that: “Neymar will play in Barcelona if Paris pays the bulk of his salary.”
“Everything is agreed upon between the two clubs, except for the salary, which remains the core point of contention”.
Neymar earns €56.4m a year before tax at PSG, which makes him the second highest paid player at the club after Kylian Mbappe, whose €72m-a-year deal made him the game’s top earner before Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr.
These stats by Neymar meant that before the injury, he had a goal-involvement of one every 65 minutes he played.
The former Barcelona man also has a thing for attending his sister’s mid-season birthday party which is always suspicious.
PSG are looking to keep club Captain Kylian Mbappe at Paris and that could force them to sell Neymar to Barcelona.
