Tottenham Hotspur have signed England midfielder James Maddison on a five-year deal worth £40 million from the new Championship side Leicester City.
Tottenham announced his arrival by posting a video on their Twitter account showing a Tottenham shirt hanging in the background and a nod to Maddison’s love of the sport.
The club posted another video showing Maddison throwing a Dart at the board.
Maddison becomes Tottenham’s third signing this summer after the club completed the signings of Dejan Kulusevski and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Maddison agreed personal terms with Tottenham on a £170,000-per-week wage. He posted with the Tottenham new shirt on June 28, 2023, at the club’s Enfield base.
The new Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou wants different midfield option going into the start of the Premier League on August 11, 2023.
His creativity will be welcomed by Tottenham who need a player capable of giving the ball to its all-time highest goal scorer, Harry Kane.
Newcastle previously attempted to sign James Maddison who only had one year on his contract, but they later turned their attention to Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, signing him for around £70 million.
The midfielder won three caps for his national team, England, and helped Leicester City claim their first FA Cup title in 2021, beating Chelsea in the final through Youri Tielemans’ wonder goal.
Maddison also won the Community Shield while he was at Leicester City.
Maddison made 203 appearances for Leicester City, scoring 55 goals and creating 41 assists in all competitions.
He scored 10 Premier League goals and created nine assists last season, but it was not enough to stop Leicester City from being relegated.
Since he joined Leicester City, only Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold have created more chances than James Maddison.

James Maddison is currently dating a stunning model named Kennedy Alexa. Both of them started their relationship in 2020, which was announced on Instagram.
