On Tuesday morning, June 27, Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist and transfer expert, announced that the full verbal agreement for Suarez signing had been completed.

As reported last year, the 29-year-old had a falling out with Celta Vigo president Carlos Mouriño. As a result, he did not play a single minute for the club throughout last season.

Meanwhile, Suarez’s contract with Celta Vilgo is set to expire in June 2024 but reports suggest that the club and Villarreal mutually agreed to terminate the contract to facilitate the transfer.

As per the Italian journalist’s report, Villarreal has reached a complete verbal agreement to acquire the midfielder’s services until June 2026.

The 29-year-old creative midfielder is well-known for his ability to play in both wide and midfield positions.

If he can regain the form that led to his success during his initial stint at Villarreal, he has the potential to be an invaluable asset for Villarreal manager Quique Setien.

The 29-year-old former Barcelona midfielder initially signed a four-year contract with Spanish La Liga team Villarreal in a deal worth €4 million from Sevilla in 2015.

During the 2015-16 season, he played for Villarreal and performed exceptionally well.

Denis Suarez scored five goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances, contributing to the club’s fourth-place finish in La Liga and their advancement to the Europa League semi-finals under the guidance of Marcelino.

However, since his time at Barcelona and Arsenal, which included a brief stint with Unai Emery in England, he has not experienced much success.

If he manages to find his form, this could be the perfect chance for Denis Suarez to excel in Villarreal after successfully reuniting with the club on a free transfer.
