Despite the sack of Albert Botines by Onana, there are reports Manchester United are closing in on a deal with Inter Milan to sign Onana this summer with an expected first offer of £45million.

If Manchester United bypass the contract renewal deadlock with David De Gea to keep the Spaniard at Old Trafford, Onana will be used as backup goalkeeper. Should David De Gea leaves, the Cameroonian is likely to be used by Erik Ten Hag as Manchester United first choice goalkeeper.
