Victor Osimhen Is Back For International Action With Nigeria’s Super Eagles In Private Jet After 2022/23 Serie A Triumph

Nigerian prolific forward Victor Osimhen is back to the Nigeria Super Eagles camp for international action after a successful 2022/23 Serie A season with Napoli.

The 24-year-old shared a footage of himself flying back from Italy via a private jet to join the Super Eagles ahead of the international break.

In the cosy comfort of the luxurious private jet, Osimhen wrote “Quick Link Up” adding an image of the Nigerian flag and the Super Eagles.

Victor Osimhen has been Nigeria’s leading striker for the Super Eagles in the last two years.

As expected by football fans in Nigeria, Victor Osimhen led the list of Jose Peseiro’s 8-man strikers that will possibly be lined up against Sierra Leone in the AFCON qualifiers in the international break.

The Napoli wonder striker will be expected to recreate his prolific form with the Super Eagles as they hope to seal qualification to AFCON.

Victor Osimhen led the charge for Napoli as the Gil Azzurri ended their 33 years wait for the Scudetto and also clinch the Golden Boot Award. He will hope to replicate his prolific Serie A outing with the Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles will need a win against Sierra Leone to qualify for the continent’s elite national team tournament. They are second in Group A with 9 points from 4 games behind group leaders Guinea-Bissau, who have 10 points from 5 games.

Sierra Leone lost the first leg 2-1 in Nigeria and will be hoping to avenge the defeat when they host the return leg in Sierra Leone on June 18.

Victor Osimhen and Senegal forward Sadio Mane are currently leading the AFCON 2023 qualifiers top-scorers chart with five goals, including a four-goal haul he hit against Sao Tome and Principe.

The former Lille forward will be hoping to break out from the tie with Sadio Mane by increasing his tally against Sierra Leone.

Victor Osimhen has been a star forward for Nigeria from the country’s youth levels. He scored 10 goals in 7 appearances for Nigeria U-17 in 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, helping the team to win the trophy.

He also played for Nigeria U-23 level, scoring 3 goals in four appearances. Osimhen made his first senior national team appearance for Nigeria in 2017. He has won 24 caps, scoring 15 goals.
