Following the failure in their pursuit of Lionel Messi, Al Hilal have turned their attention to Paris Saint Germain attacker Neymar.
The Brazilian could become the next high profile footballer to pen a staggering deal with a Saudi Arabian club.
Neymar is one of the players who could exit the French capital this summer after the exit of Lionel Messi.
The former Barcelona man has faced severe criticisms from fans of PSG who feel he has intentionally failed to deliver.
This is in spite of the massive price tag and salary that saw him pen a deal with the club.
Some reports suggest that a delegation from Al Hilal is presently in Paris to iron out a deal with Neymar.
The 31-year-old could be set to pocket home a salary similar to that of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Al Nassr in January.
It has been claimed that a reported salary of €200 million yearly has been prepared for the Brazilian in addition to a transfer fee of about €45 million.
Al Hilal are looking to acquire their own big name star after Karim Benzema was unveiled to Al Ittihad supporters on the 8th of June 2023.
Cristiano Ronaldo who appears to have laid the foundation for others to follow also joined Al Nassr in January.
That has left the Blue Waves with no other alternative than to push for the acquisition of a mega star.
Meanwhile, based on information from Insider Nicolo Schira, Al Hilal are set to table a €750 million deal for Neymar.
The Brazilian will earn €250 million yearly and the deal according to what we gathered is for a duration of 3 years.
Paris Saint Germain looks set to accept that offer in spite of the monstrous amount they used in signing the former Santos man in 2017.
Neymar set to become highest-paid player in football
If the transfer does come to fruition, Neymar will become the highest paid footballer in the world.
Currently, Cristiano Ronaldo who earns around €200 million per year is the highest paid player in the round leather game.
Neymar has also been linked with a return to Barcelona as reports indicate that he is set to significantly lower his wage to join the club.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United have also been linked with the Brazilian in recent months.
Neymar Jr played 29 games for Paris Saint Germain last season, netting 18 goals and providing 16 assists.
Overall, he hasn’t had a bad goals return for the French outfit since he joined the club in 2017, he has scored 118 goals and provided 77 assists in 173 appearances.
He certainly would be a perfect fit for the ongoing football project in Saudi Arabia as they continue to raid the European continent for the biggest of stars.
