According to reports, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola called Neymar to ask about his intentions in view of the transfer window.

Neymar’s future at Paris Saint Germain hangs in the balance and it is uncertain if he will remain at the club next season.

The Brazilian’s season was blighted by injury and he has infuriated the club with some of his attitude.

His no-show when the club drew 1-1 with Strasbourg to confirm their 11 Ligue 1 title has angered PSG and it appears they can’t take any of his excesses any longer.

Neymar was at the Monaco Grand Prix last Sunday

Neymar attended the Monaco Grand Prix whilst his teammates achieved a milestone in French football history.

The former Barcelona man interacted with several movers and shakers in the society at the race and it looks like his mind is far away from football.

Pep Guardiola is focused on knowing Neymar’s thought process ahead of the summer transfer window.

Based on reports from French media outlet, L’Equipe, the Citizens boss phoned the ex-Santos man for a chat.

Reports in France say Neymar is unlikely to join Manchester City despite Pep Guardiola’s desire to get details about his future

They also reported that Neymar is not likely to join Manchester City in spite of Pep Guardiola’s inquisitiveness in his wellbeing.

In the previous week, Neymar was widely reported to be on a possible move to Manchester United as Erik Ten Hag’s side look to bolster their attack ahead of next season.

However, days later, reports emanated that such information wasn’t cogent as there hasn’t been any conversation between the Red Devils and the Brazilian.

The Old Trafford club were reported to be leading the race to sign Neymar who has also attracted the interest of money bags Newcastle United.

Paris Saint Germain are also said to be set to listen to offers for the winger with reports revealing Manchester United could table a deal for the Brazilian.

Erik Ten Hag was also questioned on the speculations regarding Neymar to Manchester United and he said: “When we have news, we will tell you”.

Neymar’s captain at Brazil, Casemiro, is also reportedly making efforts to try and lure the 31-year-old to Old Trafford.

The man who is out injured till the remainder of the season has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 20 Ligue 1 appearances this campaign.

His present deal expires in 2025 and he pockets home a massive £600,000 a week salary.

Neymar is also on the radar of Chelsea with co-owner Todd Boehly apparently interested in the prospect of seeing the Brazilian at Stamford Bridge.

The man who has made 124 appearances for the Selecao of Brazil is also keen to test his mettle in the Premier League.

Since joining Paris Saint Germain from Barcelona in 2016, the attacker has battled with several injuries and that might cast a doubt on his capability to blossom in the English top-flight league.

No doubt, Neymar has got quality and he certainly by the books of many, was at a time the third best player in the world of football behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but that special touch of his seems to be gone thanks to consistent injuries.
