According to reports, Manchester United are making efforts at launching a bid for Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount in the summer.

Ten Hag apparently has massive plans for Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window, as he looks to bolster his squad in view of next season.

Many names have been linked with a possible move to Old Trafford, in spite of uncertainty hovering around the ownership of the club.

In the past 48 hours, Chelsea’s midfielder Mason Mount has been linked with a move to Manchester United as the Blues are making efforts to ship him off their wage bill.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane has also been severally linked with a possible move to Manchester United.

It is also reported that West Ham United star Declan Rice is also being eyed by the Red Devils as they intend to launch an assault on major silverwares next season.

Declan Rice

Sky Sports reports that the 13-times Premier League champions “want England trio Mount, Kane and Rice this summer”.

They continued: “United’s No 1 target is Tottenham striker Kane, who is the player that manager Erik ten Hag wants the most.

“It is unlikely they will sign all three players and everything depends on United’s impending takeover, with Qatari investors and INEOS’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the running.

“Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount are exactly the kind of characters United boss Ten Hag wants in the club’s dressing room.”

Ahead of their last encounter against Chelsea, Erik Ten Hag was asked if plans for the summer had been hampered by the takeover saga.

The Dutchman was confident that the club’s transfer plans would not be affected by the takeover process.

He said: “Yeah, that’s what I’m doing and that’s our job.

“This season that has to be our energy and the focus, but of course we are also planning for the future, for next season and that’s what we have to do.

“And that is also talking with your scouting department, recruitment responsibilities, and talking with players of course.”

Speaking concerning if Manchester United would have the capability to approach key signings in the summer irrespective of the ownership situation.

Ten Hag said: “I think so. I came in here at the end of last season and we talked about what we can do in the squad, what we can do in transfers.

“And last year, the club confirmed they can do it. So, for me, I don’t think anything has changed and yeah, in this summer period we can do the same.”

However, it is understood that an amount close to £300 million is what would be needed in order to facilitate the acquisition of Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount to Old Trafford.

Apart from new owners funding transfers, Manchester United would also need to sell players in order to reduce the wage bill of the club.

Erik Ten Hag’s side defeated Chelsea on Thursday night to confirm their qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The English giants annihilated Frank Lampard’s Chelsea by 4-1 courtesy of goals scored by Carlos Henrique Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

That win moved Manchester United to 3rd with 72 points on the Premier League table, 6 points ahead of 5th placed Liverpool.

The teams who will represent England in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League season has been confirmed and they are Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount’s form, stats, market value and contract details amongst others

Harry Kane

Kane has scored 35 goals and provided 5 assists in 48 appearances this season.

He became the first player to score in 25 different Premier League games in a 38-match season during Spurs 1-3 defeat to Brentford.

The England International has a €90 million valuation and his present deal with Tottenham Hotspur expires on the 30th of June 2024.

Tottenham Hotspur would want to do everything they can to keep him knowing how important Harry Kane is to their set up.

However, it would be herculean task seeing that they stand the possibility of losing him on a free, if he doesn’t pen a new deal with the club next summer.

Declan Rice

Declan Rice has been instrumental for West Ham United in his defensive midfield role helping the English side progress into the final of the Conference League.

Rice also assisted in securing the hammers safety in the 2022/23 English Premier League.

He has scored 5 goals and made 4 assists for David Moyes’ side in 48 appearances this season.

Additionally, the 24-year-old has made 54 clearances, 31 headed clearance and 62 interceptions, the highest in the 2022/23 English Premier League season.

His present deal with the hammers expires on the 30th of June in 2024 but West Ham could exercise a further 1-year option in his deal.

The team headed by David Sullivan have pegged their asking price for Rice at £120 million.

Declan Rice could exit the side in the summer as even David Moyes has expressed the likelihood of the Englishman not being with West Ham United next season.

Mason Mount

Mason Mount has had a wishy-washy campaign that has been blighted with an injury.

He picked up an injury in April and the Chelsea academy product is out for the remainder of the season.

Prior to the injury, he made 35 appearances for Chelsea scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists.

Mount’s transfer valuation is €65 million but Chelsea are reportedly asking for an amount within the region of £80 – £85 million for the Englishman.

He could leave Chelsea as the club is looking at reducing their wage bill after a torturous campaign in the top-flight despite spending over £600 million on new arrivals.

The possible trio of Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount could offer an Erik Ten Hag’s side improvement in all fronts due to the Dutchman’s style and based on necessity.

Manchester United have had the problem of finishing throughout the season and Harry Kane might be the solution to that problem.

In midfield, Erik Ten Hag prefers combative midfielders who can dictate play and as such Declan Rice and Mason Mount might be the answer to that need.

Having a team that has squad depth is also one thing that has been integral to many sides’ success over the years and definitely if the Red Devils are to launch an assault on major titles next season, they would need such additions.
