Manchester United has finally moved into the Champions League spot after playing 1-1 draw against West Ham United.

The Red Devils dislodged Chelsea, who moved to fourth to the third sport in the Premier League courtesy of the draw.

Chelsea lost 5-3 to the newly crowned champions, Liverpool, at Anfield. The Merseyside club eventually lifted the trophy they won after 30 years with seven games to go.

Mason Greenwood is the first player to score 10 Premier League
goals in a season as a teenager since Romelu Lukaku in 2012-13 (14), and the first English player to do so since Wayne Rooney in 2004-05 (11).

The task in the hands of Old Gunnar Solskjaear’s men now is to ensure a draw against Leicester City that is just a point behind them in their last game of the season at the Old Trafford.

The Foxes had lost their last game against Tottenham. So, they need maximum points to secure the Champions League spot.

Chelsea needs at least a draw too

Chelsea on the other hand will be welcoming Wolves to the Stamford Bridge, hoping to get at least a draw to be sure of their Champions League place.

Wolves on the other hand want to secure the last Europa League slot which is the 6th spot and will be aiming to get maximum points as they are currently above Tottenham with just a point.

Jose Mourinho‘s men will be going to the Selhurst Park on the last day with the hope of getting a win that could push them into the final Europa League spot.

How many English teams qualify for the Champions League and Europa League?

Since the 2015–16 season, the minimum quota is for four English clubs to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and three for the UEFA Europa League.

Meanwhile, with two English teams, United and Wolves still left in the Europa League, one of them could still qualify for the Champions League. All they need to do is to win the Europa League – this gives automatic qualification into the UEFA Champions League in the group stages.

Normally in England, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup winners, and the fifth-placed side in the top flight go into the Europa League automatically, but the situation will be a slight difference this time around.

This is because the Carabao cup winners, Manchester City have qualified for the Champions League by the virtue of their second position on the log. This gives the sixth team on the log the advantage to take up their slot.

The same goes for the FA Cup winners. Arsenal will have to slug it out with Chelsea in the final. Should the Gunners win the final, they will join the remaining two teams that qualify from the league spot. However, if they lose to Chelsea, the slot will be given to Tottenham, who is likely to finish 7th.
