Jurgen Klopp thinks to hold down the reigning top scorer Jamie Vardy in the Premier League fixture with Leicester City on Thursday will assure his triumph.

The German is clever enough to advise his Liverpool side to disturb the supply line to Vardy, during their head-to-head match with the Foxes on December 26.

The Reds returns to domestic duties on Boxing Day, following their Club World Cup victory in Qatar. A journey to the King Power Stadium offers the leaders a chance to extend the gap in the table.

It is obvious that the Reds want to keep their top-flight unbeaten league run but the game between the top two is risky. And they will have their targets on the English striker according to Liverpool head coach.

Meanwhile, Leicester lost the chance to close the gap last weekend during their 3-1 loss to the defending champions Manchester City. Following this, Liverpool remains 10-point clear ahead of the clash against their closest rivals.

But, if they want to put more space between themselves and the Foxes, they will have to keep Vardy quiet. The 32-year-old is presently the highest goal scorer in the Premier League with 17 goals and providing 3 assists. Having six goals off the second-place, Tammy Abraham of Chelsea.

Despite that Liverpool is in a promising position to win the Premier League crown for the first time, Klopp still will not relax. His team plays every game intensely without considering their current status, they just want to defeat.

Moreover, when it comes to talking about winning the title, Klopp reveals that his squad is good at pushing hard. Which allows them to keep their focus on the next challenge.

“We are not in this situation because we thought things are over before they are over,” Klopp said. “We are not in the situation we are in because we didn’t take each game we played so far 100 per cent seriously.

“We always have the same focus and that is what it will be with Leicester. All the talk of, ‘if we will do this, or do this’ is absolutely not important and has absolutely no influence.

“We are pretty good at shutting the doors around us. We just play the next game then we have a couple of hours to recover and play the next game.”
