The 32-year-old Black Stars player missed a penalty on Friday that would have given the African team the lead, and his daughter passed out due to the shock, according to HLN.

At halftime, both Andre and his brother Jordan Ayew were replaced and the football star had to attain to family emergency afterward.

However, it’s not clear yet if the daughter of Ayew fainted due to the failure of the footballer to score a spot kick at the World Cup.

When Andre learned of his daughter’s situation, he hurried to the hospital where the little girl was rushed to after she collapsed, according to Daily Mail.

In a tweet with a picture from the hospital, it was written: “Andre Ayew went from the stadium straight to the hospital to see his daughter who collapsed when he missed the penalty against Uruguay. It was quite scary but thankfully, she’s doing fine now.”

With their loss, Ghana was eliminated from the World Cup, while their opponents Uruguay were also ousted from the competition in an exciting way due to goals scored.

After the infamous Luis Suarez handball incident, which cost them a definite goal in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinal, many in the African nation considered the game as a “grudge match.”

Asamoah Gyan of Ghana missed the ensuing penalty on that day in Johannesburg, and Ghana was eliminated from the contest after penalty shootout.

Although he didn’t play in that memorable contest because of his suspension, Ayew was the only member of the 2010 team to appear in Friday’s game.

Ayew saw a chance for some sort of retribution against their opponents when goalkeeper Sergio Rochet brought down Moahammed Kudus in the box midway through the first half at the Al Janoub Stadium, but instead he fired a feeble shot that was easily parried by the keeper.

Giorgian de Arrascaeta scored twice to give Uruguay the victory that day, but they were unable to avoid being eliminated right away.
