Ghana legislator Adango mocks Harry Maguire during a parliamentary session

Adango, who is an elected member of Ghana Parliament, made headlines when he was captured in a bizarre footage making reference to Harry Maguire during a parliamentary session.

Adango was making a speech addressing the blunders, and outdated economic policies of his political opponents, led by Ghana’s Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

After receiving permission to air his view during the session, Adango stood up and started by heaping praises on the senior national team for a great performance in the ongoing World Cup.

He commended the team for a great effort and a bounce-back win over South Korea to keep round of 16 hopes alive.

After the accolades on the Black Stars, Adango went on a long satirical remark on the failures of Ghana’s economic policies led by the Vice President.

He blasted the government and Mahamudu Bawumia for failed and unproductive policy decisions, comparing him to Harry Maguire.

According to Adango, Ghana’s Vice President scores “economic own goals” like Harry Maguire of Manchester United, who works against his team by committing unnecessary blunders, including scoring own goals.

Adango mocked Harry Maguire, while equally slamming Mahamudu Bawumia, calling him an “economic Maguire.”

In his words, “Harry Maguire tackles his own opponents and give assists for them to score when they cannot score.”

”In this country we have an economic Maguire. The same economic Maguire was giving lectures at university on how to restore the value of the city.

”Mr Speaker why did we give this Maguire the chance to be at the centre of our defence? He became the risk of own goal.”

Adango’s satirical remarks may perfectly capture Harry Maguire at Manchester United, but not Harry Maguire with the England squad.

Harry Maguire indeed fell down the pecking order at Manchester United due to his several blunders. Under new manager, Erik Ten Hag, he was frozen off the Red Devil’s squad, and had to play second fiddle to the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.

However, England manager Gareth Southgate beat the noise and included the embattled center-back in his 2022 World Cup squad. So far, he has not regretted his decision.

Harry Maguire performed brilliantly in a 6-2 opening win over Iran and exceeded expectations against the USA and Wales in the World Cup. He has made Southatgate’s starting lineup in all the group games.
