Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini has said that he has witnessed the highs and lows with Serie A Champions, Juventus.

Chiellini, who has been with the Turin giant for 15 seasons in an interview with Corriere dello Sport, said the many years he has been with the Binaconnerri and faced tremendous pressures had become part of him.

The 35-year-old, who considered himself lucky to be part of those who made it at Juventus, said it wasn’t that simple for him to reach such height with the Scudetto winners.

On the resumption of action in Italy, Juventus will play AC Milan on Friday, as they play to qualify for the Coppa Italia Final scheduled for June 17.

With eight Scudetti, four Italian Cups and four Supercoppa Italiana titles, the only trophy that has eluded the Italian is the Champions League. Juventus is currently trailing 1-0 against Olympique Lyonnais from the first leg in France. The competition was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Uefa is still mulling the idea of having a mini eight-team tournament at a particular location for all the teams involved instead of the usual home-away arrangement.

As the Bianconnerri aims to bounce back, Chiellini said it’s better for the team to reach the Final and lose, than to stop earlier. Having witnesses been outside in the lucrative tournament in the last 16 and the group stage before, Chiellini said it was not funny scenarios.

On the battle for the Scudetto in the current season, the skipper is not ruling out Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri is currently third and nine points adrift Juventus with a game in hand. Looking at the quality of the San Siro club, the defender said it is Ricky to rule out Antonio Conte’s men of the title race.

Despite being second behind his team with a point adrift, Chiellini said the beautiful journey of Lazio would end soon. He added that Luis Alberto, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Ciro Immobile are having a beautiful journey, saying it won’t be forever.

He explained that everyone is not writing off Inter because of the quality of the coach and the players, didn’t that nine points are nothing in a crazy mini championship.

Inter will resume action against Sampdoria. A win against Sampdoria reduces to six points.

With over 500 games for the Old Lady, Chiellini, who started as a left-back, is widely recognized as one of Europe’s finest center-backs.
