Former Brighton manager and now Chelsea boss Graham Potter was hilariously booed with a cheeky song by Brighton fans on his return to the Amex Stadium.

This happened after the Blues went 2-0 down to the Seagulls in the first 14 minutes before conceding twice more in a humiliating 4-1 defeat.

Chelsea were completely outplayed by Brighton in the Premier League clash as Graham Potter indeed suffered a nightmare return to his former club.

Thiago Silva had already prevented two goals as he headed two Brighton chances off the line after Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in just five minutes on the south coast.

Potter and his Blues team then went from bad to worse as Ruben Loftus-Cheek score an own goal before Trevoh Chalobah also sent Kepa Arrizabalaga grabbing the ball out of his net before half-time.

Chelsea coach, who was hilariously booed by Brighton fans made changes at the break which saw Kai Havertz pull one back for the Blues shortly after half-time to offer Potter the hope of a comeback.

However, the Seagulls were not to be refuted as they held on to clinch all three points and even netted a fourth late on to hand Graham Potter his first Premier League beating since he took over as Chelsea boss in September.

Former Seagull’s favorite manager Graham Potter dumped Brighton for Chelsea in September after Todd Boehly sacked the previous coach Thomas Tuchel.

Meanwhile, Brighton’s Supporters were not happy with Potter’s “betrayal”, with Brighton sailing high in the Premier League table at the time.

Brighton’s fans first demonstrated their vexation by booing Potter and former left-back Marc Cucurella early in the Premier League clash on Saturday.

The sarcastic uproar rose higher after the host shoot up into a 2-0 lead through Leandro Trossard and a Ruben Loftus-Cheek own-goal, with the home supporters chanting a scornful rendition of “sacked in the morning” to make jest of Potter.

After Trossard’s first goal, they sang heartily: “Potter, what’s the score?”
However, things only became worse for the Blues and their English boss after Chalobah became the latest Blue defender to put the ball in his team’s net in just few minutes left in the first half.

Football fans all around certainly found the incident amusing. One of the fans tweeted: “Potter created a team he can’t play against.”

Another wrote: “Chelsea took both Marc Cucurella and Potter from Brighton just to be humbled by the same team.

One hilariously told Potter to open a nursery school. He said: “Dear Graham Potter, there is still time for you to open a nursery school before it’s too late.”

Another added: “Todd won’t put up with this for long.”

Another wrote: “He’s lucky Roman’s gone otherwise he would be sacked.”

Another fan accused Potter of ruining the game for Chelsea, claiming Potter featured three defenders but not a single midfielder or defensive midfielder was on the pitch.

Another added: “Todd won’t put up with this for long.”

Meanwhile, Potter’s achievements since he replaced sacked Tuchel in September may have earned him some goodwill at Stamford Bridge and prevented hotter reactions from Blues supporters.

On his arrival, Graham Potter has leveled up the Blues from the bottom to the top of Group E in their Champions League Campaign and remains unbeaten.

However, the 4-1 loss against Brighton marks his first defeat in the Premier League since September but this isn’t bad at all compared to other teams that have met many humiliating beatings.

Moreover, it should be noted that the issue was not because Potter lost his first Premier League game at Chelsea, it was clearly because the loss came from his detached club, Brighton.

What’s next for Potter and his Blues Team?

Chelsea will host Dinamo Zagreb in the final Champions League group stage match on Wednesday, November 2nd. Afterward, Potter and his boys will be in action in the Premier League against London rivals Arsenal on November 6.
