Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has finally responded to the video where he was seen criticizing the current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
The video surfaced online after Arsenal defeated Liverpool in the Premier League on October 9, 2022 to move back to the top of the table.
The video has now been addressed by Aubameyang. He admitted that the video was taken shortly after he arrived in Barcelona.
However, he acknowledged that the statements were spoken at a moment when he was really upset over how his relationship with Arsenal crashed abruptly.
Aubameyang left Arsenal for Barcelona last season following a disagreement with the manager over the player’s tardiness at practice and failure to reintegrate him into the team.
Martin Odegaard received the captaincy after Aubameyang was relieved of it by Arteta.
🗣 Aubameyang on Arteta: "Big characters and big players…he can't deal with it. He needs some young players who don't say anything."

This is really low from @Auba. As soon as he wants out he'll create problems in the locker room and blame it on someome else. pic.twitter.com/eIflZHewis
In reaction to the viral video, the 33-year-old tweeted: “Aware there is a video out that was recorded just after I arrived at Barca. At the time I still had a lot of bad feelings in me – Arsenal are doing great things this season and I wish all my old guys well, just not on November 6.”

Note that just like Aubameyang, French striker Alexander Lacazette and coach Arteta had a misunderstanding last season, which led the manager to start Eddie Nketiah ahead of Lacazette. The misunderstanding forced the club not to renew Lacazette’s contract and forced him to leave the club on a free transfer back to France.
As for Aubameyang, he left Arsenal for FC Barcelona in January 2022 and then made an audacious decision this season to join Chelsea, the main London rival of Arsenal, and has been their top striker so far.
The first matchup between Arsenal and Chelsea in the 2022-2023 season will take place at Stamford Bridge on November 6, 2022.
The international Gabonese player joined Arsenal in 2018 and left after 128 games and 68 goals.
He has three goals since joining Chelsea. Recall that Aubameyang scored for Chelsea in the Club’s 2-0 win over AC Milan in a UEFA Champions League group game on Tuesday, October 11. This mean that the Gabonese striker has scored a goal each in his last three games.
Chelsea is currently in fourth place on the Premier League table. The Stamford Bridge team has 16 points after its first eight league games this year.
Chelsea has played eight times in the English Premier League division this season with five victories, one draw, and two losses.
The gap between the Blues and the top-placed Arsenal is eight points and they have played one more game than Chelsea. The Gunners are leading the league with 24 points.
Will Arsenal Fans Welcome Aubameyang When Chelsea Meet The Gunners?
Nobody likes to see former players on the opposing squad. We don’t really anticipate that Aubameyang playing against Arsenal will make the Arsenal supporters pleased. The audience will probably boo him.
What Next For Aubameyang and Chelsea
Chelsea will travel to struggling Aston Villa on October 16, 2022, for a Premier League match. A win will not move Chelsea from the 4th position, but it will boost their confidence going forward in Premier campaign.
Chelsea are currently in a good position and are gradually becoming a very nice team. All the players who lost their form under Thomas Tuchel are now regaining it.
