Lionel Messi is still enjoying his summer break in Ibiza, alongside his former Barcelona teammates Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez.
The group traveled to the beach hotel Ushuaia in Ibiza with their spouses.
Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo were at the holiday location together, Fabregas and his wife Daniella Semaan were also present, while Suarez was joined by his wife Sofa Balbi.
Lionel Messi spent time in his native Argentina before last week’s celebration of his 35th birthday in Ibiza.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be replaced by Christophe Galtier, thus Messi will train under a new manager when he returns to PSG for preseason.
Despite scoring just six goals in the league, Messi joined PSG to lift the Ligue 1 championship in his first season.
Fabregas, meanwhile, is likely to leave Monaco after a disappointing season in which he was limited by injury.
Recently, Fabregas emphasized that he still wanted to play, saying: “First, I still want to play. This is not how I want to go out. Too horrible a year to come to an end like this. I want to enjoy myself and leave on a positive note.
“Nothing is decided, I am listening. I am open to everything. Maybe the level of club will have to drop, but there are teams of a lower level in the Champions League. One thing is clear. I’ll go to a club where I’ll play, where they believe in me.”
On the other hand, Suarez led Atletico Madrid in league goals with eleven last season, although he is also looking for a new team.
Suarez, 35, is reportedly close to joining Argentine club River Plate, according to reports.
Between 2014 and 2020, while Suarez was still a member of the Catalan giants, the two attacking players teamed up at the club. Last season, they helped Atletico Madrid defeat Barcelona for the league title.
Since then, Suarez and Messi have remained good friends, and after Copa America in 2021 ended, the two had a summer vacation together with their families.
The Argentine star left the Camp Nou in an astonishing turn of events the following month, with Barca claiming they were unable to register his new deal due to budgetary constraints imposed by La Liga.
Messi and Fabregas, who played together for Barcelona’s junior teams and first squad from 2011 to 2014, remained friends despite following different career paths.
Following the demanding 2021–22 season, Messi and Fab, along with many other current and former Barça stars, attended the wedding of former teammate Jordi Alba in Seville over the weekend.
