Leeds United have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Marc Roca from Bayern Munich on a four-year, £10 million contract.
Following the acquisition of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen from Red Bull Salzburg, the 25-year-old becomes Leeds United third summer signing.
For Bayern, the former Spain Under-21 international made 24 appearances.
He did not score a goal for the German club and will leave after two years in the Bundesliga after joining Espanyol in 2020 on a five-year contract.
Gavin Bazunu, Manchester City goalie, has joined Southampton
Southampton has signed two goalkeepers on five-year contracts, including Gavin Bazunu of Manchester City.
Bazunu, who has represented Ireland ten times, is said to have cost £12 million.
After a successful loan move in League One, the 20-year-old was crowned players’ player of the year at Southampton’s neighbors Portsmouth in 2021-22.
Mateusz Lis, a 25-year-old Polish goalkeeper, has joined the Saints after leaving Turkish club Altay.
He has played for a number of Polish clubs, notably Wisla Krakow and Altay, who were recently relegated.
Bazunu, who joined City three years ago from Shamrock Rovers, has never appeared for the main team.
He has 84 first-team club appearances with Rovers in the League of Ireland, Rochdale on loan in 2020-21, and Pompey.
Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster joined Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer this summer, and one of their backups, Harry Lewis, has joined Bradford.
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl remarked, “Gavin is a very exciting addition to the squad.”
“He is a goalkeeper with a very modern style of play, comfortable in the build-up phase, who has developed physically through some very important loan moves early in his career.
“He is already an international goalkeeper, which is very rare for his age.
“Mateusz is a player who has a lot of the right attributes we look for in a goalkeeper, and still with his best years ahead of him.”
Bazunu, on the other hand, said; “I feel like it’s a place I can come and develop and learn my game. The biggest thing is an opportunity – the fact that I can come here and have a chance to play regular football.”
