The vice president of La Liga giants Barcelona, Eduard Romeu has called out La Liga chief Javier Tebas after he reacted to their recent involvement to sign Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona has been on the market ever since their club legend and world best football Lionel Messi left the club for Paris Saint-Germain. They are searching for a player who can fill the place of Messi in the team.

This led them to sign forwards like Aguero and Memphis Depay. However, the team is not satisfied with the performance of their new strikers and now wants to land Lewandowski.

The Bayern Munich top player is among the top striker in the world. Lewandowski is a real goal machine and has never failed to deliver goals for Bayern Munich since he joined them. Having a goal scorer like Lewandowski in any team will likely solve the problems of scoring goals.

Lewandowski who finished last season as the top scorer across Europe has revealed that he wants to leave Bayern Munich. He made it clear that something has died in him and he can’t continue staying with the German champions.

The Poland hitman is seeking a new challenge and Barcelona are in a better position to sign him. However, Tebas has reacted to the recent transfer news linking Lewandowski to Barcelona. He said that Barcelona are not financially capable of signing Lewandowski.

Tebas added that Barcelona needs to have a good budget to land the player in the next transfer window. Romeu said that the statement made by Tebas has caused more harm to their pursuit for Lewandowski than good.

He said; “We were also meeting with the board of directors when these statements were released,”. “We found out from the reaction of the player’s representatives who, logically alarmed, contacted us and we had no choice but to react.”

Romeu added: “There was concern because, logically, if the establishment that has to decide something about a player’s participation in the league says something like this, it is really worrying.

“We see it as an interference. In the end, we understand that La Liga is there to defend the interests of the different clubs, including Barça. We’re not asking for preferential treatment, nothing different from anyone. We are simply asking for equal conditions, nothing more.”

The president of Barcelona, Laporta has told Tebas to mind his business. He said; “Given the statements by the president of the League saying that we cannot sign a player, I would like to remind him that his duties are to watch over the Professional Football League and the clubs,”.

“So I ask that you refrain from commenting on whether or not we can sign a certain player, because that clearly harms the interests of FC Barcelona.”
