Mane is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and has made it obvious that he wants to go. Recently, he was urged to stop talking about his predicament in public after saying that some of his comments about his departure were misread.

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Mane this summer, and 90min can confirm that the Bundesliga giants have made an initial offer to Liverpool that is significantly lower than the Reds’ asking price.

According to sources close to the matter, Liverpool quickly turned down the offer and have told Mane that he will not be sold this summer until a team matches their asking price, which is thought to be in excess of £40 million.

However, dialogue between the two parties remains open, with Bayern still hoping to reach an agreement.

While Liverpool have reinforced their stance on a sale to Mane, it is also believed that the 30-year-old has been informed that the offer of a new contract is still on the table, and that they are willing to sit down and work out a new deal at any time.

Last week’s talks regarding a contract extension for Mane were unexpectedly canceled by the forward’s representatives after he opted to depart the club in pursuit of a fresh challenge.

Liverpool is also in talks with Mohamed Salah, who, like Mane, has only one year left on his Anfield deal.

Salah has made it clear that he wants to extend his contract but he is reportedly pressing for a pay package that would put him among the top earners in the Premier League. On the other hand, Liverpool are hesitant to change their wage structure for the Egyptian footballer at this point.
