FIFA have announced a shortlist of names of nominees for FIFA 2023 Awards in all categories from Best Men’s, Women’s, Coaches, Goalkeepers, and Fan’s award.
Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi leads the list of Best Men’s Players nominated for the award. Manchester City players dominate the Men’s category with Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, and their former player IIkay Gundogan, all nominated for the award after winning a historic treble last season.
PSG and France forward Kylian Mbappe has also made the list after reaching 2022 World Cup final with France and winning French Ligue 1 with Napoli.
Napoli duo, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Georgia and Victor Osimhen of Nigeria, are also nominated for the award after leading Napoli to a record Serie A triumph last season.
In Men’s Coach category, Pep Guardiola, who won a treble with Manchester City last season, leads the list of nominees slated for the award, including Inter Milan’s Simeone Inzaghi, and Barcelona’s Xavi, Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham, and former Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti.
Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson, leads the goalkeeper category followed by Andre Onana of Manchester United, Marc-Andre Ters Stegen of Barcelona, Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid and former Sevilla but now Al Hilal goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
