2022 football free agents available for transfers and new signings

We’ve reached April 2022, which means that any player whose contract expires at the end of the season will be in talks with other clubs about a Bosman transfer in the summer.

While several unknown players will be out of contract this summer, some of the world’s finest players will also be available on a free transfer.

Top players with expiring contracts include Kylian Mbappe, Paulo Dybala, Paul Pogba, Franck Kessie, Antonio Rudiger, and Ousmane Dembele.

Lorenzo Insigne, a Euro 2020 and Napoli star, has already agreed to a Bosman deal to Toronto and will arrive in the summer. Atletico Madrid’s Hector Herrera had agreed to a pre-contract with Houston Dynamo.

Zenit struck a pre-contract agreement with Bayer Leverkusen in December, but the Bundesliga club only made it public in January. In the summer, Niklas Sule will also join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer.

Juventus has revealed that Dybala will depart the club at the conclusion of the season, while Barcelona president Joan Laporta has all but finalized the free transfers of Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

Those two movements, however, are not yet official. Perhaps never before have so many top-tier players been available for free transfer, and elite teams such as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Barcelona are running out of time to prevent their superstars from going for nothing.
